He raced F2 Coopers for the 1959 season and won the Rufforth Libre race. He continued to race for Lotus in 1963, achieving second places at Pau and Karlskogo. For 1967, he drove a Lotus 47 before upgrading to a Lola T70 and winning the Tourist Trophy at Oulton Park.
